Yahoo! Six pounds and change lost!

MotivationWell, since my ankle injury in February I’ve been at a much lower activity level and I finally have started losing some of the weight that I gained while I was waiting for my leg to heal.

It is a journey that is far from over, but I feel better knowing that changes are already happening and I’ve only been walking a few weeks without my cast.

Motivation is one of those things that is easier to attain when you have a positive attitude and a community of people who are on your side.

I think the biggest hurdle is definitely mental. Getting motivated to exercise comes easier to some than others. Before this injury I was walking 4 miles a day or more on average. Cycling on a stationary bike every day is kind of boring, but it gets my heart going and my legs are getting stronger. I am excited about starting to swim soon. There’s a great pool at the gym and I plan on going as soon as I can: tomorrow!

Motivation is one of those things that is easier to attain when you have a positive attitude and a community of people who are on your side. I’m  a member of Calorie King and I have some buddies online who cheer me on as well as real life friends and family who back me up. It’s really important to have bite size goals and to work towards those instead of overwhelming yourself with a huge amount of weight to lose at once.

Congrats on the weight loss! It will only get better from here because you’ve lost that weight and have only just been able to walk a little over a mile. Keep the momentum going!
